How to Make a Kid’s 2016 Bucket List Craft
By Raven W. Green
Another great New Year’s Craft for 2016! Ya’ll know by now how much I love making easy, fun and memorable keepsakes for holidays. They make for a wonderful mommy & me project plus great to look back on year after year.
Today, we are making a kid’s 2016 Bucket List Craft. It is a great way to make plans for the year and have some fun time making something together. I designed this for my daughter’s Girl Scout troop and we made them this past week. They had a great time!
Supplies:
- Felt (2 pieces)
- Yarn or string (enough to thread around edges)
- Hole Puncher (or craft knife)
- Scissors
- Glitter glue
- Label
- Marker or sharpie
- Ziploc bag
- Construction paper
- Pipe cleaners
Steps:
- Gather supplies
- Cut two pieces of felt into the shape of a bucket or purse
- Use hole punchers or craft knife around 2 sides and bottom
- Line up holes in 2 pieces
- Thread yard or string around edges of three sides to make bucket or purse
- Slide small plastic Ziploc bag into bucket or purse
- Stick label onto front and write child’s name
- Twist 2 pipe cleaners together and attach an end to each side
- Use glitter glue to write 2016 above name label
- Cut 12 small squares out of construction paper and label January – December.
- On other side of squares have child draw or write an activity they have never done but would like to that month
- Place squares into plastic bag
- Hang bucket or purse on their door knob
- Every month take out the month’s card and try to make their activity happen
- I made kits for the Girl Scout troop with all materials and instructions. They make great crafts for classes, troops or parties too!
- Enjoy!
What are YOUR family traditions for New Year’s?
